SANDY COVE WEDDING FOR AMBER & CHARLIE

This was my first Sandy Cove Wedding - and hopefully the first of many!

Right between Christmas and New Year on the 28th December, these guys and the Sandy Cove Wedding team put on a Wedding fit for Christmas.

I was booked after their original photographer had ceased trading earlier in the year and after speaking to Amber and Charlie I couldn't wait to be their Wedding photographer. Typical of my usual client's they were kind hearted, great fun, down to earth, and absolutely right for each other and you could see it from the way Charlie looked at Amber as she walked down the aisle.

The Sandy Cove Wedding Ceremony room boasts unbelievable views of the Devon Cost but unfortunately on this occasion, with so many friends and family in attendance, the view point was steamed over on this cold wet day.

Despite the weather though, their friends , family and Wedding party were out in full force and were an absolutely joy to work with and it’s always really wholesome to see bridesmaids, best men, ushers and groomsmen who get themselves involved and embrace the occasion for the bride and groom.

It’s the little things that you notice when you go to a lot of Weddings – some people just want to wear the dress or the suit and be more important than other guests for the day,. Not this lot though, they were all there, whenever needed and were a real help to me – all for a couple who they love.

In particular, Stacey, the maid of honour and best man Brandon were incredible people organisers when it came to group photos.

I got to meet more new faces and am losing track of names in 2022. Jess and Sammy from the Sandy Cove Wedding team were incredibly helpful and even let me behind the bar for a shot (photo, not a sambucca) and seemed to do a seamless job of moving guest from one part of the Wedding. 2022 has been amazing and I’m so grateful for some of the people I’ve met.

I got to meet the hair and make up team of Kara from Runway Barnstaple

and Rachael from Isabelle Grace Make Up and would recommend them to anyone for their Wedding in Devon.

I was also working closely with Rich, who was one of their friends videoing their day for them and it was really nice to work with someone who knew the couple so well.

PARENT FIRST LOOKS NEVER CEASE TO AMAZE

Amber had contemplated a first look reaction with her mum but wasn’t sure if she would react much, but we did it anyway and her and her mum were quite surprised by the emotionally reaction that we got.

I think even the least outwardly emotive of people struggle to maintain their poker face when seeing their son or daughter ready to be married for the first time. It’s something I often think about now as a father, especially of a daughter. (I’d probably deflect with a joke)

Rarely do you meet a Wedding who are as rowdy as this lot! They were absolutely f'n brilliant. They were loud, raucous and all having a great time right from the drinks reception and that energy followed on into amazing speeches from Amber’s brothers and Charlie’s best men, but Brandon stole the show.

And then, something I had never seen before and is only possible at Christmas – an all guest rendition of the 12 days of Christmas where each table is one of the days of Christmas and has to stand up and sing their line louder than everyone else.

I’ve made it sound, well a bit sh*t… but it was AWESOME and had everyone in hysterics. If you’re having a Christmas Wedding it’s an absolute must do.

My job though of course was to capture these guys amazing photographs and my favourites were these.

Anything that’s especially emotive always stands out to me – that’s what Wedding are all about and they’re the moments you pursue and really look out for as a professional Wedding Photographer.

But it’s impossible not to love anything that features these views when you’re a couple having a Sandy Cove Wedding…

I send all my clients a sneak peek of their photos within 48 hours and Amber's reaction to her Wedding photos was amazing. The client feedback and reaction is something that really drive me too so I love hearing it. She said:
