Nik & Ellie - Hornsbury Mill

Restriction free Weddings are back!

... and these guys made the most of it! I have honestly never seen so many people party so hard for so long! I guess that's what happens when you're not allowed to be together to celebrate for a over a year!

Nik and Ellie planned their day at Hornsbury Mill to perfection. They are my only couple this year I think who got married on their original Wedding date! And it fell just 13 days after Freedom day! (That's impressive planning!) And what's more impressive was that they beat the rain that day to have the outdoor ceremony that they so wanted, I just couldn't have been happier for them on that they had exactly the day that they had dreamed of and honestly being a part of it, like always, just makes you feel damn good. I absolutely loved hanging out with these guys and their families and friends on the day. The best part being that they'd ask me to cover their reception too which was awesome! Every single dance track from the 90s culminating in a sing along to Sweet Caroline is right up my street!

British Weather

One of the advantages of Hornsbury Mill is the ability to host outdoor or indoor ceremonies and their ability to switch from one to the other at short notice, which is obviously great for the our unpredictable weather. 45 minutes after the ceremony it was throwing it down with rain for a while before we were able to get back outside, so it meant that Kien from KB Wedding Videography and I had to move to plan B (Pros will always have a Plan B!) to ensure that Nik and Ellie got everything that they wanted from us, and that we each got what we needed for the couple respectively. But, with the weather clearing up an hour later (giving people time for an extra drink or two) we were able to get out and plenty of fun as well as more formal photos and footage for their Wedding collections. Then later on, we had just enough sun so that we had lovely light for their couples photography early in the evening.

Style, sunflowers and substance

These guys all looked great on the day. The aqua green colour scheme looks great in their photography and works amazingly with the Sunflower florals and button holes provided by Kim at Flower Mouse Floristry really makes their images look great. The whole bridal party were great fun, game for having their photo taken and doing some movement based group shots which I absolutely love the look of and recommend to all of my couples that we work through something similar. More often than not people want the traditional 'stand up straight and look over at me' type shot that you print for your Nan, aunties and uncles' but you can also have stuff that captures what you and your closest peeps are all about. I really love the images that we got together and I'm so proud of the gallery that I've just delivered - so my thanks go out to Ellie and Nik and their friend and family - you can't make great photography without great people.
